CLIO - a Virtual Reality application prototype to assist in teaching the History discipline to students with ADHD
Abstract
The elementary education history, requires the student to pay maximum attention in order to fully understand and retain the topics taught. In today's world it's hard for children to remain in place, quiet and concentrated, even more so when distractions are bound to occur during class. This work aims to present a prototype of the CLIO software, which uses Virtual Reality (VR) as a mechanism to assist teachers in teaching history with students who have ADHD. This way, it seeks to minimize the negative impacts of disorder through a tour in a three-dimensional (3D) world that portrays a historical moment, and, accompanied by a character called Clio, the goddess Greek History, which will explain a subject related to discipline, in addition to interact through questions, with scores on the subject, to verify that the student was paying attention to the explanation of the content and to instigate him to learn more, making him the protagonist of the story.
