The Proceedings of the 39th Undergraduate Research Contest (CTIC 2020) bring the papers selected and presented in the online edition of the event, on November 16 to 20, as part of the 40th Brazilian Computing Society Congress (CSBC 2020) which had the theme “Artificially human or Humanly artificial? Challenges for Society 5.0”. In this issue, the proceedings include ten full papers. Among these accepted papers, three competed for the award as best undergraduate projects. These papers were selected through a peer review process, from a total of 39 (thirty nine) full papers submitted, which implied an acceptance rate of 25.64% . The event's program committee was coordinated by Fátima Nunes (USP) and Soraia Prietch (UFR), who organized this volume. The articles in this volume were submitted until April 30, 2020, accepted for publication on June 12, 2020, with the final version submitted on June 30, 2020.
