Current Issue
The Proceedings of the 39th Brazilian Symposium on Databases (SBBD 2024) bring the papers selected and presented in the edition of the event held in Florianópolis/SC, Brazil, from October 14-17, 2024. In this edition, the proceedings include 50 full papers and 34 short papers. These papers were selected through a double-anonymous peer review process, with 133 full papers and 72 short papers submitted, resulting in acceptance rates of 38% (50/133) and 47% (34/72), respectively. Three other papers, originally submitted to the full paper track, were accepted as short papers.
Both full and short papers include works from the categories of research, industry, and vision, in various areas of databases, data science, and big data. The Full Papers Program Committee was coordinated by Prof. Eduardo Ogasawara (CEFET/RJ, Brazil), and the Short Papers Program Committee was coordinated by Prof. Carlos Eduardo Pires (UFCG, Brazil), who organized this volume together with Humberto Razente (UFU), the publications chair of SBBD 2024.
The full papers that comprise these proceedings were submitted by 06/03/2024 and accepted on 07/10/2024 (without rebuttal) and 07/23/2024 (with rebuttal). Due to the climate tragedy that affected Rio Grande do Sul, a special submission period was established to support the affected community. In this call, full papers were submitted by 07/08/2024 and accepted for publication on 08/08/2024 (without rebuttal) and 08/19/2024 (with rebuttal). The final version of all papers was submitted on 09/02/2024. The short papers, in turn, were submitted on 07/12/2024, accepted for publication on 08/19/2024, and the final version was submitted on 08/26/2024.
The quality of this edition is primarily due to the authors and reviewers of the published papers. We are deeply grateful for their contributions and discussions during SBBD 2024.
