SIAF: A Physical Activity Information System

Abstract

This paper presents an information system, inserted in a Ubiquitous Computing environment, for the acquisition and evaluation of physical activity data of the population assigned to healthcare units of São Carlos-SP municipality. This system allows for the generation of health and performance indicators, which will support the establishment of public policies to promote physical activities for this population. This environment will employ body sensor networks, wireless networks, and mobile devices in order to monitor the physical conditions of the participants of these activities.
