Implementação de Estratégias de Handover em um Ambiente de Simulação para Open RAN
Resumo
A arquitetura Open RAN (O-RAN) promove a desagregação das Redes de Acesso de Rádio (RANs em inglês) através de interfaces não proprietárias e controladores inteligentes da RAN (RICs, em inglês). A O-RAN enfrenta vários desafios, principalmente relacionados às aplicações dos RICs que otimizam o desempenho da RAN. Neste artigo, apresentamos um estudo da arquitetura ORAN e uma proposta de mecanismo de handover (HO), elemento fundamental em redes móveis. O handover O-RAN foi adicionado ao simulador ns-3. Os resultados de simulação mostram que o HO pode ser gerido pelo RIC, sem prejudicar severamente o serviço. Alternativamente, há sobrecarga do canal de controle caso a célula dispare o HO e o RIC decida a célula de destino.
