Abstract

This paper presents the evaluation of BPMN use in an public organization that performs academic research, the Laboratory for Immunology in Humans. This evaluation is part of an action-research and was done by guided interviews and business specialists’ analysis. The research’s goal is the evaluation of the BPMN’s graphical representation for the documentation process and to serve as tool to support discussions in operational and strategic improvements. The study was conclusive and proved BPMN’s funcionalyties in a public organization performing research and development.
