Abstract

Transparency assessment in Software Ecosystems (SECO) portals is essential for the quality of interaction with a common technological platform. Semiotic Engineering (SemEng) can be an ally for this process, as it verifies the quality of the interface’s communicability. In this context, this paper aims to evaluate the communicability of a SECO portal, to verify the relationship between the results obtained and the informative and understanding characteristics of transparency. To do so, we used the Semiotic Inspection Method (SIM), from SemEng, to assess the communicability in the Android SECO portal. Although it is not possible to say precisely how much the communicability assessment helps in transparency assessment, the results can contribute to studies refinement on this topic.
