Innovation Process based on Design Thinking and Lean Startup – a Case Study in the Inspection Area

Abstract

The 21st century brought a set of very complex problems to be faced by the government. The lack of treatment or partial treatment of these problems has generated a crisis of legitimacy in the public sector in recent years. With a focus on improving public management and increasing citizen confidence, the Court of Accounts of Pernambuco conducted 10 innovation workshops in partnership with the Computer Science Department of the Federal Rural University of Pernambuco to reflect on challenges arising from its strategic planning. This article reports the innovation process adopted, which was based on Lean Startup and Design Thinking approaches.
