Investigating Women's Enrollment and Retention in the Computer Science Program at UESB: An Analysis of the Last 10 Years

Abstract

This paper analyzes female participation in the Computer Science program at UESB between 2014 and 2024, focusing on women's enrollment and retention. The study adopts a qualitative-quantitative approach, combining institutional data on enrollment and dropout rates with sociocultural and institutional factors. The goal is to understand the evolution of women's enrollment rates, compare dropout rates between genders, and assess whether trends at UESB reflect those at other Brazilian universities, contributing to gender equity policies in computing.
