The Reason Everybody Already Knows? Reflections on Poverty and Low Income for the Prospect of Fair Computing
Abstract
Introduction: In recent years, we have observed the migration of several basic services to the digital environment. However, in specific scenarios, interactive systems have contributed to the invisibility of the social needs of people living in poverty and low-income communities. Objective: This article reflects on the socioeconomic conditions of these individuals to propose changes in the software development process. Methodology: We highlight the relationship between the third Grand IHC and the need for a developing environment with greater otherness and conscious fairness. Results: We present the necessary steps to enhance the digital inclusion of individuals in economic vulnerability.
