FREDS: Framework for Reducing Semantic Discontinuity in Medical Images

Abstract


This paper describes the development of a framework focused on the definition of conceptual mappings between the content of medical images and textual information contained in medical records, applied in a scenario of computer-aided diagnosis in thyroid cancer. It is also intended to contribute towards the reduction of the semantic gap between computerized medical image retrieval and the human interpretation of its content.
