Analysis of Digital Retinography Images with Custom ImageJ
Abstract
This paper present ImageJ for Fundus of the Eye analysis, a modification on ImageJ, an open-source multiplataform tool, to ease reading and evaluation of fundus of the eye images while searching for clues for cardiovascular problems or those related to diabetes. Functionalities added to this tool were developed according to the evaluation protocol suggested by the Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences of Wisconsin University, along with added communication to a DICOM image server. In this paper we present the added functionalities, aspects of their implementation and preliminary results of its use in evaluation of participant exams for a longitudinal study.
