Assessment of Knowledge Acquisition in 3D Virtual Learning Environments for Medical Training

Abstract


The development of tools supporting teaching, such as simulators and serious games through 3D Learning Virtual Environments (3D LVEs), is becoming an increasingly common alternative in the medical training area. In this context, this work presents the initial results from an experimental study conducted with students in the health field, interested in learning of Human Anatomy, taking VIDA (Virtual Interactive Distance-Learning on Anatomy) as a tool to support the teaching environment. These results are part of a larger context aiming at establishing a method to evaluate knowledge acquisition in 3D LVEs.
