Abstract

This paper describes a proposal for representation and persistence of patient and context data in ubiquitous applications. It is based on the OpenEHR Foundation`s dual model approach, which provides a separation between structure and semantic concerns, and flexibility for inclusion of new structures to be persisted. The persistence solution consists in storing the XML representation of the reference model, indexed by data paths defined by archetypes. A prototype implementation was developed and tested. Following this phase, the archetypes for the clinical and contextual data will be modeled. Also, the persistence solution for the local context service and the data transfer to the central electronic health record server will be implemented.
