The Proceedings of the 9th Brazilian Symposium on Ubiquitous and Pervasive Computing (SBCUP 2017) bring the papers selected and presented at the edition of the event held in São Paulo, on July 2 and 6, as part of the 37th Brazilian Computing Society Congress (CSBC 2017), which had the theme "Computing for everything and everyone". In this edition, the proceedings include 18 full papers. Each paper received an average of 3 independent reviews, out of a total of 39 full papers submitted, resulting in an acceptance rate of 46%. The event's program committee was coordinated by Leandro Aparecido Villas (Unicamp) and Rodrigo da Rosa Righi (Unisinos), who organized this volume.
