The Proceedings of the 8th Brazilian Symposium on Software Engineering (SBES 1994) bring the papers selected and presented in the edition of the event held in Curitiba/PR, from October 26-27, 1994. In this issue, the proceedings include 30 full papers. These papers were selected through a peer-review, from a total of 91 full papers submitted, which implied an acceptance rate of 32.9%. The event's program committee was coordinated by Roberto Tom Price (UFRGS). The coordination of the organizing committee of the event was by Roberto Antonio Rodrigues de Almeida (CITS).
