Abstract


The introduction of new technologies and applications connected to the Internet, in recent years, has demonstrated the physical incapacity of current optical backbone networks in the provisioning of resources in a near future. One of the main proposals to deal with this problem today is optical networks with spatial multiplexing. However, observing the massive amount of data these networks can transport, there is a need to develop efficient resilience mechanisms. This paper proposes a routing algorithm with a protection mechanism for elastic optical networks space-division multiplexing, aware of the traffic priority. The obtained results demonstrate the proposed algorithm's high-efficiency establishing and resilience of high priority connections compared to similar algorithms in the literature.
