The Proceedings of the 36th Brazilian Symposium on Computer Networks and Distributed Systems (SBRC 2018) bring the papers selected and presented in the edition of the event held in Campos do Jordão, from May 6 to 10, 2018. The coordination of the event was under the joint responsibility of the Department of Computing (DComp) of UFSCar and the Institute of Mathematical and Computer Sciences (ICMC) of USP. Traditionally, the event is composed of technical sessions, short courses, panels and debates, workshops, tool rooms, lectures, and tutorials given by internationally renowned guests. This year, for the first time, the SBRC featured a hackathon in the area of Computer Networks and Distributed Systems and also a Thesis and Dissertation Contest.
