The Companion Proceedings of the 28th Brazilian Symposium on Multimedia and Web (WebMedia 2022) bring the papers selected and presented in the Contests and Workshops of the edition of the event held in Curitiba/PR, from November 7-11, 2022. The 4th Thesis and Dissertation Award Competition (CTD) received a total of 17 article submissions, of which 5 master's dissertations and 3 doctoral theses were selected for the final stage, in which they compete for the awards of Best Master's Dissertation and Doctoral Thesis. The 21st Workshop on Tools and Applications (WFA) received 20 submissions. At the end of the review process, 11 works were selected for presentation and publication. The 2nd Undergraduate Research Work Contest (CTIC) received a total of 15 submissions. At the end of the review process, 7 works were selected for presentation and publication. This volume also brings two articles about the tutorials presented on WebMedia 2022. Finally, this volume features four short guest articles authored by renowned companies that report practical experiences in the topics of interest to WebMedia. The event's program committee was coordinated by Jussara Marques de Almeida (UFMG) and Humberto Torres Marques Neto (PUC Minas), who organized this volume.
