Abstract

Users’ low tolerance for low-quality apps has pushed developers to prioritize a positive User Experience (UX) to stand out. In this context, app store reviews emerged as a valuable source to detect the factors that shape UX. Several studies have investigated various factors and their impact on UX. However, the dispersion of results makes it difficult to obtain useful conclusions to guide development and research. This paper presents a systematic mapping study of factors that affect UX in app store reviews. From 25 publications, we identified 31 factors and research opportunities with implications for professionals and researchers.
