Recuperação e Tolerância a Falhas em Apresentações de Aplicações Hipermídia Distribuídas

Abstract


The NCL language supports the creation of hypermedia presentations using resources from multiple connected devices simultaneously, through a high-level declarative description. This paper proposes protection mechanisms to address fundamental characteristics of the distributed presentation environment of the Ginga-NCL subsystem, which is seen as a failure-prone distributed system using asynchronous communication to orchestrate devices with heterogeneous hardware and software specifications. As proof of concept the discussed mechanisms were incorporated to the reference implementation of Ginga in order to make it capable of recovering from and adjusting to faults or configuration changes during the presentation of distributed hypermedia applications.
