2026: Companion Proceedings of the 26th Brazilian Symposium on Computing Applied to Health

The Companion Proceedings of the 26th Brazilian Symposium on Computing Applied to Health (SBCAS 2026) bring the papers selected and presented in the edition of the event held from June 1 to 4, 2026, in Ouro Preto/MG, Brazil. This edition includes papers chosen through a double-blind review process, covering the following tracks:

  • Undergraduate Research Works Contest (CTIC) received a total of 30 paper submissions, of which 14 were accepted, resulting in an acceptance rate of 46.7%. The event was coordinated by Renato Bulcão Neto (UFG) and Frederico Gadelha Guimarães (UFMG);
  • Artur Ziviani Award – Theses and Dissertations Contest (CTD) received a total of 19 paper submissions, of which 11 were accepted, resulting in an acceptance rate of 57.9%. The event was coordinated by Mariana Recamonde-Mendoza (UFRGS), Lucas Ferrari de Oliveira (UFPR) and Rafael Alves Bonfim de Queiroz (UFOP);
  • Tools and Applications Track received a total of 18 paper submissions, of which 10 were accepted, resulting in an acceptance rate of 55.6%. The event was coordinated by Fernanda Sumika Hojo de Souza (UFOP) and Romuere Rodrigues Veloso e Silva (UFPI);
  • Workshop on Applied Computing for Neglected Tropical Diseases (CADTN) received a total of 23 paper submissions, of which 17 were accepted, resulting in an acceptance rate of 73.9%. The workshop was coordinated by Andreza Alencar (UFRPE), Cleber Matos de Morais (UFPB), Cristiano André da Costa (UNISINOS), Danielle Moura (UPE), Débora Christina Muchaluat Saade (UFF), Élisson da Silva Rocha (UPE), Kayo Henrique Carvalho Monteiro (UniFavip Wyden), Patricia Takako Endo (UPE) and Vanderson Sampaio (ITpS);
  • Workshop on Mining Digital and Social Signals for Public Health (MinDS) received a total of 24 paper submissions, of which 13 were accepted, resulting in an acceptance rate of 54.2%. The workshop was coordinated by Carlos Henrique Gomes Ferreira (UFOP), Cristiano André da Costa (UNISINOS), Débora Christina Muchaluat Saade (UFF) and Silas Lima Filho (UFRJ);
  • The Workshop on Computational Thermography and Artificial Intelligence for Medical Applications (ThermoAI) received a total of 9 paper submissions, of which 7 were accepted, resulting in an acceptance rate of 77.8%. The workshop was coordinated by Aura Conci (UFF), Cristiano André da Costa (UNISINOS), Débora Christina Muchaluat Saade (UFF), Matheus de Freitas Oliveira Baffa (USP), and Sílvia Cristina Dias Pinto (UERJ).

The articles from the CTIC, CTD, and FA tracks in this volume were submitted on 03/09/2026, accepted for publication on 04/15/2026, with the final version submitted on 05/05/2026. The articles from the CADTN Workshop were submitted on 04/22/2026, accepted for publication on 05/13/2026, with the final versions submitted on 05/18/2026. The articles from the MinDS Workshop were submitted on 04/29/2026, accepted for publication on 05/11/2026, with the final versions submitted on 05/15/2026. The articles from the ThermoAI Workshop were submitted on 04/29/2026, accepted for publication on 05/18/2026, with the final versions submitted on 05/22/2026.

The editorial preparation of the proceedings was supported by Geovani Lopes Martins (IFMG), who was responsible for overseeing the final submissions and consolidating the versions published in this volume.

The SBCAS 2026 was organized by the Brazilian Computer Society, through the Special Commission on Applied Computing in Health (CE-CAS), with the Federal University of Ouro Preto (UFOP) serving as the host institution.
