2026: Proceedings of the 17th Brazilian Symposium in Information and Human Language Technology

The Proceedings of the17th Brazilian Symposium on Information and Human Language Technology (STIL 2026) bring the papers selected and presented at the 17th edition of the symposium, held from October 19 to 22, 2026, in Cuiabá, Mato Grosso, Brazil, in conjunction with the 36th Brazilian Conference on Intelligent Systems (BRACIS 2026), the 23rd National Meeting on Artificial and Computational Intelligence (ENIAC 2026), the 14th Symposium on Knowledge Discovery, Mining and Learning (KDMiLe 2026), the 20th Workshop-School on Agents, Environments, and Applications (WESAAC 2026), and the 15th Thesis and Dissertation Contest in Artificial and Computational Intelligence (CTDIAC 2026). This edition of the proceedings includes the papers selected for the Main Conference as well as the papers accepted for its satellite events:

  • The 17th Brazilian Symposium on Information and Human Language Technology (STIL 2026) received 89 submissions, of which 37 were accepted, corresponding to an acceptance rate of 41.6%. Of the 37 accepted papers, 36 had their final versions submitted for publication in the proceedings. The papers were selected through a double-blind peer-review process. The Program Committee was chaired by Aline Paes (UFF) and Ariani Di Felippo (UFSCar), who organized this volume together with Bryan Khelven da Silva Barbosa (UFSCar), Publication Chair of STIL 2026. The paper submission deadline was 05/15/2026; acceptance notifications were sent on 07/11/2026; and the final versions were submitted by 07/26/2026;
  • The 11th Workshop on Portuguese Description (JDP 2026) received 13 submissions, of which 8 were accepted, corresponding to an acceptance rate of 61.5%. The papers were selected through a double-blind peer-review process. The event was chaired by Daniela de Souza Silva Costa (UFMS) and Maucha Andrade Gamonal (UFJF). The paper submission deadline was 06/01/2026; acceptance notifications were sent on 07/11/2026; and the final versions were submitted by 07/15/2026;
  • The 11th Undergraduate Research Workshop on Information and Human Language Technology (TILic 2026) received 20 submissions, of which 18 were accepted, corresponding to an acceptance rate of 90%. The papers were selected through a double-blind peer-review process. The event was chaired by Lilian Teixeira (UFBA) and Paula Cardoso (UFPA). The paper submission deadline was 06/05/2026; acceptance notifications were sent on 07/11/2026; and the final versions were submitted by 08/03/2026.
