The Proceedings of the 21th Symposium on Virtual and Augmented Reality (SVR 2019) bring the papers selected and presented in the edition of the event held in Rio de Janeiro, during the period October 28 to 31, 2019. In this issue, the proceedings include 25 full papers and 9 short papers. These papers were selected through a double blind peer review process, from a total of 44 full papers and 17 short papers submitted, which implied an acceptance rate of 57% and 53%, respectively. The event's program committee was coordinated by João Marcelo Xavier Natário Teixeira and Rafael Rieder, who organized this volume. The articles in this volume were submitted on July 15, 2019, accepted for publication on August 19, 2019, with the final version submitted on August 30, 2019.
