The Proceedings of the 5th National Computing Meeting of Federal Institutes (ENCompIF 2018) bring the papers selected and presented in the edition of the event held in Natal, from July 22 to 26, as part of the 38th Brazilian Computing Society Congress (CSBC 2018), wich had the theme "Computing and Sustainability". In this issue, the proceedings include 17 papers. These papers were selected through a peer review. The event's was coordinated by Carlos Roberto de Oliveira Junior (IFRJ) and Marcelo Rafael Borth (IFPR), who organized this volume. The articles in this volume were submitted on 03/30/2018, accepted for publication on 04/23/2018, with the final version submitted on 04/30/2018.
