Finding my Way to it: Good Practices for Designing Serious Games Interfaces in EUD Authoring Tools

Abstract


Professionals have increasingly used serious games to engage people with specific goals using end-user development (EUD) methods and tools, which allow people not necessarily specialized in developing domain-specific games. However, games bring requirements regarding the interface that need to be considered so that the result matches the initial objectives. This study proposes a set of best practices for non-experts addressing interface design, usability and engagement aspects to enable a positive gaming experience for their players.
