User-Centered design in building a data management system for Equine-Assisted Therapy
Abstract
This paper presents the use of User-Centered Design (UCD) for developing a management tool for a Hippotherapy project. The project arose from the need for more effective management of patient record data previously stored on paper. The development team adopted UCD to create a tool aligned with the institution’s objectives. There was active participation from the institution’s professionals, who engaged in three UCD cycles. During these cycles, requirements were defined, data entry strategies were developed, and functional prototypes were built. These prototypes were considered satisfactory by the users.
