The Proceedings of the XXXIV Brazilian Symposium on Informatics in Education (SBIE 2023) bring the papers selected and presented in the edition of the event held from November 06 to 10, 2023, in the city of Passo Fundo/RS, Brazil, as part of the 12th Brazilian Congress on Computers in Education (CBIE 2023), which had the theme "A school for the future: technology and connectivity at the service of education". In this issue, the proceedings includes 164 full papers. These works were selected through a double-blind peer review process. The event's program committee was coordinated by Juliana Machado Brandão (UNIPAMPA) and Lidiane Goedert (UDESC), who organized this volume together with Alex Sandro Gomes (UFPE) and Leandro Marques Queiros (UFPE), SBIE 2023 coordinators. The papers included in this volume were submitted on 07/17/2023, accepted for publication on 08/28/2023, and the final version was submitted on 09/11/2023.
SBIE 2023 included five thematic tracks:
- Track 1: Methodological and Technological Approaches for Basic and Higher Education, coordinated by Clenya Rejane Barros de Lima (UERR), Felipe de Brito Lima (UFRPE), and Flávia Veloso Costa Souza (UFPB), pages 01 to 485;
- Track 2: Games, Simulators, and Emerging Technologies in Education, coordinated by Marcos Wagner de Souza Ribeiro (UFJ) and Ana Carolina Gondim Inocêncio (UFJ), pages 486 to 936;
- Track 3: Human Factors in Digital Technology for Education, coordinated by Luma da Rocha Seixas (UFBA) and Cleon Xavier Pereira Júnior (IFGoiano), pages 937 to 1085;
- Track 4: Artificial Intelligence in Education, coordinated by Rafael Ferreira Leite de Mello (Escola UFRPE/CESAR) and Filipe Dwan Pereira (UFRR), pages 1086 to 1535;
- Track 5: Digital Technologies for the Development of Computational Thinking and Computing Education, coordinated by Christian Brackmann (IFFar) and Andréa Sabedra Bordin (UFSC), pages 1536 to 1907.
