2023: Proceedings of the 14th Brazilian Symposium in Information and Human Language Technology

The Proceedings of the 14th Symposium in Information and Human Language Technology (STIL 2023) bring the papers selected and presented in the edition of the event held from September 25 to 29, 2023, in the city of Belo Horizonte/MG, collocated with 12th Brazilian Conference on Intelligent Systems (BRACIS 2023), the 20th National Meeting on Artificial and Computational Intelligence (ENIAC 2023), and the 7th Brazilian Competition on Knowledge Discovery In Databases (KDD-BR 2023). In this edition, the proceedings bring together the papers selected for the Main Conference and the papers accepted in its satellite events:

  • 14th Symposium in Information and Human Language Technology (STIL 2023), received a total of 73 paper submissions, of which 25 were accepted, which implied an acceptance rate of 34.2%. These papers were selected through a double-blind review process. The event's program committee was coordinated by Helena Caseli (UFSCar) and Maria José Bocorny Finatto (UFRGS). The articles were submitted on 07/02/2023, accepted for publication on 08/02/2023, with the final version submitted on 08/14/2023;
  • 8th Portuguese Description Journey (JDP 2023), received a total of 21 article submissions, of which 12 were accepted, which implied an acceptance rate of 57.1%. These papers were selected through a double-blind review process. The event was coordinated by Cláudia Freitas (USP), and Gabriela Wick Pedro (IBICT/NILC). The articles were submitted on 07/02/2023, accepted for publication on 07/31/2023, and had the final version submitted on 08/15/2023;
  • 8th Undergraduate Research Workshop on Information Technology and Human Language (TILIc 2023), received a total of 15 article submissions, of which 13 were accepted, which resulted in an acceptance rate of 86.6%. These papers were selected through a double-blind peer review process. The event was coordinated by Roney Lira de Sales Santos (UFBA), Raimundo Santos Moura (UFPI), and Rafael T. Anchiêta (IFPI). The articles were submitted on 07/09/2023, accepted for publication on 08/01/2023, and had the final version submitted on 08/15/2023;
  • 2nd Universal Dependencies Brazilian Festival (UDFest-BR 2023), received a total of 11 article submissions, of which 10 were accepted, which implied an acceptance rate of 90.9%. These papers were selected through a double-blind peer review process. The event was coordinated by Thiago Alexandre Salgueiro Pardo (USP), Magali Sanches Duran (USP), and Lucelene Lopes (USP). The articles were submitted on 07/25/2023, accepted for publication on 07/31/2023, and had the final version submitted on 08/15/2023.
