The Proceedings of the Brazilian Symposium on Computing Education (EduComp 2021) bring the selected and presented papers in the first edition of the event held online (from Jataí/GO) from 26 to 30 April 2021. In this issue, the proceedings include 40 full papers, which were selected through a double-blind peer review, with an acceptance rate of 28.8%. The event's Program Committee was coordinated by Roberto Bittencourt (UEFS). The papers in this volume were submitted on October 25, 2020, accepted for publication on December 18, 2020, with the camera-ready version submitted on January 26, 2021. This volume was edited by Ana Liz Oliveira (UFPB), Elaine Oliveira (UFAM), Filipe Pereira (UFRR) and Rafael Araújo (UFU).

EduComp 2021 included four tracks:

  • Track 1: Research Papers and Essays;
  • Track 2: Experience Reports;
  • Track 3: Curricula and Pedagogical Practices;
  • Track 4: Educational Resources and Environments.
