The Proceedings of the XXXI Brazilian Symposium on Computers in Education (SBIE 2020) bring the papers selected and presented in the edition of the event held online (from Natal/RN) from 24 to 28 November 2020, as part of the 9th Brazilian Congress on Computers in Education (CBIE 2020) which had the theme "Development of skills and competencies for innovation and social impact". In this issue, the proceedings include 184 full papers, which were selected through a double-blind peer review, with an acceptance rate of 30%. The event's Program Committee was coordinated by Sérgio Crespo Coelho da Silva Pinto (UFF) e Adja Ferreira de Andrade (UFRN) who organized this volume together with Rafael Dias Araújo (UFU), CBIE 2020 Publications Chair. The papers in this volume were submitted on August 2nd, 2020, accepted for publication on September 23, 2020, with the camera-ready version submitted on September 30, 2020.
SBIE 2020 included six thematic tracks:
- Track 1: Methodological and Technological Approaches for Basic and Higher Education, coordinated by José Aires de Castro Filho (UFC), pages 01 to 341;
- Track 2: Educational Games and Innovative Technology for Education, coordinated by Leticia Lopes Leite (UnB) and Rafael Dias Araújo (UFU), pages 342 to 631;
- Track 3: Human Factors in Digital Technology in Education, coordinated by Henrique Nou Schneider (UFS), pages 632 to 891;
- Track 4: Intelligent and Adaptive Systems, coordinated by Fabiano Azevedo Dorça (UFU), pages 892 to 1442;
- Track 5: Computational Design and Thinking, coordinated by Crediné Silva de Menezes (UFRGS), pages 1443 to 1562;
- Track 6: Technologies in Computing Education, coordinated by Roberto Almeida Bittencourt (UEFS) and Esdras Lins Bispo Junior (UFJ), pages 1563 to 1842.
